Chaplain Barry Black
As the Chaplain of the U.S. Senate, Chaplain Barry Black is a spiritual leader to the Senate lawmakers, their families, their staff, and other people who work on the Senate side – about 6,000 people. Growing up in Baltimore with little except the love of a strong mother, Black was surrounded “by overwhelming poverty, discouragement and death-bound adults who were enslaved … by alcohol and drugs.” A college student when he joined the Civil Rights movement, he was inspired by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to see pastors not as “dealers in gossamer hopes and dreams… but drum majors for justice, truth and righteousness.” Chaplain Black challenges men to live a life of character and integrity.
We are delighted to have John Bevere back at HonorBound! He is the founder of Messenger International, an organization established to teach, reach, and rescue. As a minister and author, John delivers messages of uncompromising truth with boldness and passion. His desire is to support the local church and resource leaders regardless of location, language, or financial position. To this end, his resources have been translated into over 90 languages, and millions of copies have been given to pastors and leaders worldwide. John Bevere inspires confidence and faith with this message, “God will never lead you into a storm that He doesn’t give you the power to overcome!”
Bryan has served as Lead Pastor for GT Church ( Reading, PA) for over 25 years. Before being called into ministry, Bryan was a professional baseball player in the Chicago White Sox organization until hit with a 90 mile an hour fast ball that blinded him in his left eye, ending his baseball career. In the summer of 2015, Bryan experienced something that would change his life forever when he and his wife, Lynn, were hit by a drunk driver, while riding their motorcycle. That accident caused him to lose his wife of 28 years and his left leg. Drawing on his incredible life experiences, Bryan communicates with an authentic, open style that allows him to be transparent and real with people. Most of all, he is able to share about his unwavering faith which has taught him that, “ if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.”
