Dear Faithful Servants of Christ,

I would like to invite you to be a part of this year’s District Council/MinistrieSummit being held at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Reading PA.  Pastor Bryan Koch and I are looking forward to a great time of fellowship, refreshment, and encouragement as we come together as the people of God.

Our theme, “Generations” will emphasize our challenge to fulfill God’s instruction that “One generation will commend your works to another, they will tell of your mighty acts.” (Psalm 145:4)

It has been said, “The church is only one generation away from extinction.”  That highlights the importance of passing on to the next generation the truths and experience that has changed our lives and is transforming the world.

We are not in ministry alone.  Neither should we feel the way Elijah did when he said to God, “I am the only one left.”  At Elijah’s deepest place of discouragement, God pointed him toward the next generation of leaders.  This reminds us of the importance of viewing our role in the context of God’s plan of salvation in history.  We are called to build on the foundation of previous generations, to be faithful in our generation, and to pass God’s torch on to the next generation.  May we, like David who “served God’s purpose in his own generation” (Acts 13:36), be found faithful.
